The weekend looks good for both weather and water conditions with slight chances of rain and potentially gustier winds. Rain is moving very, very slowly into the area this Friday Afternoon. Rain will continue to move slowly through the state throughout the day and into the overnight/early morning hours. Rain will be heavy at times and a rumble of thunder cannot be completely ruled out. As rain tapers off into early Saturday, skies will begin clearing, yielding way to more sun than clouds for the weekend. Scattered or isolated showers are possible, but chances are very, very low and mostly confined to the northern half of the state. Rain accumulations for the weekend will be less than a quarter inch, max. Overall, the weekend will be nice with upper 60’s to low 70’s statewide with overnight lows in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s. Humidity will be present, but on the lower side; it will be noticeable, but not uncomfortable. Water conditions will be mostly good inshore with some gustier winds both days with winds increasing throughout the day on Sunday into Sunday Night. Offshore waters will have Cautious conditions on Saturday due to elevated seas around 8 feet. Sunday seas will subside some, however winds will increase throughout the day. Surf and beach conditions will be good to ok. Surf will be rougher and elevated on Saturday around 2-5 feet with some higher wind gusts. Sunday will see lower surf, but winds increasing throughout the day. Water temperatures are in the low 50’s to mid 60’s, with shallower waters warmer and ocean waters in the mid to upper 50’s, except for offshore waters still in the low 50’s. UV Index will be High at 6-7/15.
A very slow moving cold front extending from the Great Lakes southward to Florida will gradually move east today, crossing the region by late tonight. Weak high pressure will then slowly build into the region from the West over the weekend and into early next week. This high pressure will be followed by a warm front from the southwest midweek.
Next week looks dry through Tuesday Night when rain chances will increase for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will continue in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s with overnight lows in the 40’s to 50’s. After the warm front moves through midweek, overnight lows will jump up a few degrees and humidity will increase. Water, surf and beach conditions look good for the week right now, with nothing standing out at this time.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
