Decided to go kayaking and camping suviorman style on the river saturday into sunday! Brought my fishing gear a can of baked beens, water, tarp and a sleeping bag plus a pint of whiskey
!And with the goal in my mind to catch me some dinner! Dropped in by rockafella mills in flemington Right away under the 202 bridge caught two nice small mouth. Made my way down thru three bridges with no other luck besides raising two trout. Met up with my buddy at higginsville bridge so he could help me set up my camp and gather fire wood. After we got all set up and a fire going we started fishing live worms in these deep rapids which feed into a big pool right infront of my campsite. Right away he hooks up with a nice rainbow. I cast in and bam a huge rainbow grabs my worm than launches it self out of the water two times at full speeed than almost spools down stream. Tired him out and landed him. Biggest trout i have ever caught. He was around 5lb over 20 inch Kept picking at them in same hole we landed 5 total lost another 3. These trout were pink like samon when we cleaned them up to cook delious! Woke up crack of down and picked two more trout and a couple smallies on a crank bait than slowly worked my way to neshanic to get picked up. Great camping trip!!
