Clamming IBSP

Recently I tried clamming for the first time at Island Beach State Park and only was able to get 3 after about 2 hours. I launched the kayak at the last kayak entrance at the end of IBSP and hit the exposed sand and shallow water a short paddle out. I was wondering if any one new a good technique to use while raking or any good spots around the bay near IBSP.
