MI Bass 6-7
« on: June 08, 2014, 12:01:56 AM »
Left dock at 5am, headed to a near by area where I knew of a bass bite day prior. Area was void of life. Worked are way south filling the live well. Marked some fish as we worked our way south past Seaside. Worked area hopping pod to pod, nothing. At this point we put the trolling gear out and worked back north. Finally had enough and decided to make a run, got off our home port to find a huge fleet including all the head boats and large schools of bunker. No luck, had a couple small blues bite the bunker. Kept going north, losing our eagerness. However, it was our club bass tournament and still had some time left. Made it north of Shark River when we started seeing pods of bunker again. Cruised around and we saw a boat pick up a bass, had some marks below us, dropped the baits in and had a quick flurry. Boated 2 of 3 bites. One at 26 and the other at 28lbs. The fleet grew and we saw bass caught scattered about, we had 2 other half hearted run offs but we were done for today. Headed home to see 2 cows weighed after us. Beautiful but long day. Will have to take advantage of the next couple days of weather again.
