Half n’ half weekend for weather and a borderline to cautious weekend for water conditions. Saturday will be mixed with more clouds than sun and chances of showers and thunderstorms. Skies will clear for Sunday and dry conditions should remain the main headlines. High temperatures will be in the 70’s with cooler temperatures along the coast. Overnight temperatures will be in the 50’s inland and 60’s along the coast. Humidity will be low to moderate. Winds will be breezy on Saturday inland and both days along the coast. Water conditions will be borderline to cautious for almost all waters. Onshore flow will continue varying from northeast to east-northeast. Winds will be 10-15 knots with gusts pushing 20 knots and seas 3-5 feet across ocean waters and 1-3 feet across bays. Small Craft Advisories are possible, especially on Saturday, but could continue into Sunday. Surf and beach conditions will be good to OK. Winds will be gusty from the northeast/east-northeast with rougher surf and wave heights averaging 2-4 feet with 3-5 foot waves likely with a 3-4 foot swell. Rip Current Risk will be Low to Moderate. Water temperatures are in the 60's and 70's with most in the 70's. Warm water is being pushed onshore, so closer to shore the warmer the temperatures. Surf temperatures are in the mid to upper 70's along most beaches. UV Index will be Moderate to Very High.
A weak low pressure will cross the region Thursday Night through Friday Night and then move off the coast Saturday. High pressure will build across the area this weekend and remain into next week. A cold front will approach the area next Wednesday.
Next week looks dry through midweek with possibly some showers and thunderstorms with the approaching cold front. High temperatures will be in the 70’s and 80’s with overnight lows in the 50’s and 60’s. Humidity will be low to moderate. So far, humidity and excessive heat have been at a minimum this Summer. Long range looking towards the Fall are calling for decent chances of above normal temperatures. Water conditions are looking mostly good with a continued easterly flow. Surf and beach conditions look good to OK, as the onshore flow will keep wave heights 2-4 feet and rougher with Low to Moderate Risks of Rip Currents.
Invest 96L in the East Atlantic is approaching the Lesser Antilles. Aircraft Recon did not find enough to upgrade this system today, however the NHC still gives it a 50% chance of forming in the next 48 hours. This system is being modeled to travel towards the East Coast. Right now, it looks to stay out to sea, however, when there is no central or center of low pressure, models can be useless. Without a storm, forecasts cannot be generated. There are two systems, Tropical Storm Karina and Hurricane Lowell. These two systems will interact over the next few days and are not a threat to land right now.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
