A not so great weekend all around, but not a washout either. Saturday will have more clouds than sun with chances of shower and thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong to severe with heavy rains, dangerous lightning, and damaging winds. Saturday will be hot and humid with highs in the upper 80’s maybe even low 90’s with high humidity and heat indices in the mid 90’s. Overnight lows on Saturday will be in the upper 60’s and 70’s. Sunday will have continued chances of showers and thunderstorms, however lower than Saturday with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will be in the 70’s and low 80’s with drier and moderately humid air, less than Saturday. Overnight lows on Sunday will be in the 50’s and 60’s. Water conditions will be mainly borderline to cautious with some slots of good conditions, mainly early on Saturday and late on Sunday. Southwesterly flow on Saturday will switch to a northeasterly flow on Sunday. Winds in general will be gusty to borderline SCA on Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, with seas building, more so, midshore to offshore. Thunderstorms also need to be considered Saturday and even possibly on Sunday, which could increase poor water conditions. Surf and beach conditions are good to ok, with moderate to gusty winds, some rougher surf and wave heights averaging 1-3 feet. Rip Current Risk will be Low to Moderate. Take into consideration the possibility of thunderstorms as well and be aware of changing weather conditions. UV Index will still be High to Very High at 7-8/15.
A cold front located over the Great Lakes will move through the region on Saturday Evening, stalling offshore through midweek. High pressure builds in from the Northwest during the midweek. Low pressure may develop offshore along the stalled front on Tuesday and Wednesday and move northeast. Another cold front may move through the region on Friday.
Next week looks wet with chances of rain and thunderstorms all week. Chances are low right now, but the possibility of rain is there. High temperatures will only be in the 70’s to 80’s with lows in the 60’s. Water conditions will be mixed next week based on day and location. Southern and Midshore to Offshore waters will have predominantly borderline to cautious conditions all week, while rivers, bays and Central and Northern Inshore Ocean waters will have good to some borderline conditions. Surf and beach conditions look good for North and Central beaches look good, while Southern beaches could have gustier winds and rougher surf.
Invest 90L near the Cape Verde Islands is being watched. Models bring it north of the Antilles up near the East Coast. It is too early to make any forecasts on this.
