Stripers are HERE! 10/29
« on: October 29, 2007, 07:51:08 PM »
I got out solo for a few this afternoon......With a 10degree drop in water temp (54-59) The striper's were on the feed in a big way..........Lot's and lots of bait birds and fish! all shorts for me not one over 27", but soooo much fun to catch.
I started trolling bunker spoons with out a hit.......I changed to shad rig's in green and that is what they wanted.
After catching a few doubles and many singles I switched to a crippled herring and that also was working.......The only draw back was I was solo, lots of mayhem fishing with so many fish around. I was off the tip of the hook see my fishfinder, not many boats around and no doubt if the guy's were fishing North beach they should have been into them also!
      Go get um!

You are definitely the master of the Solo Trip Ed. By the way, were you fishing with four poles at the same time?

Shad rigs in green and crippled herring...Got it!!!!!!
I think I could be a really good people person if wasn't for the people.

I'm not catching any more fish, but I'm starting to learn why I'm not catching any more fish.

Great job 'bout time they showed up.
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!

Nice work Ed,

Now all I need is for them to be in the suds tomorrow.   I was at the 3rd Ave. parking lot talking to a great bunch of guys this evening.  Boy what good conversations.  I will be down there around 11:00 in the morning for high tide give or take an hour either side.

You could see the birds working way off shore and spearing in the wash, but was happening yet.  Keep your fingers crossed guys this could finally be it.

Happy Catching

Paul

Way to go, sounds like a great day, and hopefully the bigger ones will be right behind those shorts.

Young Gull, I just noticed the starfish on the one rig arm.  You definately were on the bottom.
I had my rigs on the bottom the other day and lost two rigs.  I like to run the rigs just off bottom but sometimes it doesn't work out.   TT^
