The National Weather Service Philadelphia will no longer transmit Marine Forecasts on the Weather Radios for New York City. This includes Raritan Bay, New York Harbor and The area from Sandy Hook east to Fire Island Inlet, NY. The good thing, is that The National Weather Service New York City will continue to broadcast this on their frequencies. So, all this means is changing channels to get the geographical marine forecasts.
So, Raritan Bay and New York Weather and Marine Forecasts will be on frequency 162.550 which is channel WX 1. Marine Forecasts for Coastal Waters from Sandy Hook south to Barnegat Inlet will be on 162.450 or channel WX 5. For Barnegat Inlet south to Cape May, 162.400 or WX 2. For Delaware Bay we go back to 162.550 or WX 1 and Upper Delaware Bay/Delaware River use 162.475 or WX 3. All of the areas, except Raritan Bay Area will be the same. While on the Raritan/NY Border both NWS PHI and NYC frequencies will be able to be received, however only NWS NYC will carry the forecasts for that area.
