Mixed forecasts, but overall good weather and mostly good water conditions this weekend. Both days will have a mix of sun and clouds. Saturday will have increasing clouds later in the day and into the overnight. Coastal Low Pressure to the north will influence the weather slightly. Almost all of this system will remain well north. There are low chances of isolated showers all weekend with chances of scattered showers Saturday Night for western and northern parts of the state. Definitely Fall weather, with highs in the 40’s to 50’s and lows in the 30’s to 40’s. Some gustier winds are possible Friday Night into Saturday. Marine forecasts are very mixed. Currently Gale Warnings and Small Craft Advisories are in effect for all coastal waters. The strongest winds and highest seas will be today from now through late tonight. Conditions should begin improving on Saturday…by how much is the question. NWS/NOAA meteorologist prepared forecasts are going with borderline to cautious conditions on Saturday with winds to 20+ knots and higher seas. Conditions on Sunday look to improve and be good. BuoyWeather forecasts are calling for only moderate winds and seas on Saturday with borderline to good on Saturday and good conditions on Sunday. The models are mixed across the boards as well, so it is really a go look and see for yourself weekend. Timing will be essential and by this afternoon, forecasts could be drastically different. I think Saturday will see wind gusts to 20+ knots and sustained winds 10-20 knots and seas recovering from 3-5 feet back to 1-3 feet. Sunday looks good with 5-10 knots and seas 1-3 feet. Surf and beach conditions will be good to ok. Gustier winds and some rougher surf are possible with waves 1-3 and 2-4 feet. Water temperatures are in the 50’s and low 60’s. UV Index will be Low to Moderate.

Low pressure off of New England will move northeastward into Canada on Friday Afternoon as a secondary cold front crosses the region. High pressure will build in for the first part of the weekend. Another area of low pressure will move across Canada and its associated weak cold front will cross the area Saturday Night into early Sunday. High pressure will again move in on Sunday and Monday, with low pressure again on Tuesday.

Next week will start off dry again, with rain chances moving in for Tuesday, Wednesday and maybe even Thursday. Highs will be in the 50’s and 60’s with lows in the 30’s and 40’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be good with some borderline to cautious conditions on Wednesday and Thursday possible.

Tropics are quiet in the Atlantic. The remnants of Typhoon Nuri is taking aim at the Bering Sea with 50 foot waves likely!

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
