A blast of frigid air moves into the region and water conditions are cautious to hazardous at best. As a strong cold front moves across the region, very cold air will move in for the remainder of the week. Clouds will continue to clear and be mixed for the rest of the week with sun, as dry conditions move in. Northern areas could see some snow showers throughout the week, but nothing accumulating. The headlines this week are the cold air and windy conditions. Highs for Tuesday will not get much above freezing with winds to 30 knots and wind chills in the teens and 20’s. Wednesday through Friday will see highs temper back into the 40’s, but not much above low to mid 40’s. Overnight lows on Tuesday night will be in the teens and 20’s, increasing into the 20’s and 30’s by weeks end. Coastal areas will see the still warmer ocean air influences and will not get as cold. The weekend will bring a warmup back into average to slightly above average temperatures for next week into Thanksgiving. Water conditions are cautious to hazardous, with a slight window on Wednesday with winds and seas subsiding, only to increase for the end of the week. Currently, Gale Warnings and Small Craft Advisories are in effect for winds to 40 knots and seas 4-8 feet inshore and 5-10 feet offshore. Surf conditions are ok to cautious. Winds will be gusty, surf rough and dangerous and wave heights 3-5 feet and 4-6 feet. Water temperatures have cooled a few degrees, still in the 50’s and 60’s. This next few days should allow the temperatures to drop a few degrees more, before warming again with next week. UV Index will be Low to Moderate at 1-3/15.

Low pressure tracking into Eastern Canada will send a strong cold front across the region on Monday Night. High pressure will then build toward the Mid Atlantic later on Tuesday through Wednesday, with another cold front cross the area on Thursday. More high pressure will influence the region later on Friday and into the weekend. A warm front will approach the region on Sunday.

Saturday looks dry, but Sunday could see rain chances again. Highs will only be in the 40’s on Saturday, but up into the 50’s on Sunday. Overnight lows will be in the 30’s on Saturday and 40’s on Sunday. Water, surf and beach conditions will be borderline on Saturday and cautious again on Sunday.

The Atlantic Tropics are quiet.

Have a great week and thanks for reading!
