With the the chance of doing the up coming Cod Trip, I going through some of my fathers old stuff. I found this rig in a old cigar box with other cod rigs. Anyone ever seen or used anything like this ???

Never saw that one. Looks like it will hold a plastic skirt or tube

Could also be the guts of an oldtimey "Banana Jig" used in the '70s to jig bluefish, also worked on Cod.
