Dry weather conditions, but cautious water conditions will start off the weekend. Saturday and Sunday will be dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Saturday will be windy and cold with highs well below freezing in the teens and 20’s with wind chills making it feel even colder. Overnight lows will be in the single digits to teens with additional wind chills. Sunday will see a few more clouds and a few degrees warmer. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to upper 30’s with overnight lows in the 20’s and 30’s. Winds will be calmer. Water conditions will start off cautious to hazardous with gusty winds to 30 knots and seas to 6 feet. Winds will begin to diminish later on Saturday and by Saturday evening water conditions will be mostly good, with some lingering cautious conditions. Sunday water conditions will be good. Surf and beach conditions will be good, except for gusty winds on Saturday and some rougher surf around 2-4 feet. Sunday conditions will improve. Water temperatures are colder in the 30’s and 40’s with 50’s offshore. UV Index will be Low at 1-2/15.
High pressure across the Southeastern US will move slowly/drift off the Coast tonight. A cold front will move through the region on Friday. Surface high pressure will move across the Mid-Atlantic this weekend. Another cold front will track through the area on Monday as a separate low pressure system moves up the Atlantic Seaboard. High pressure is forecast to move in for Tuesday. A reinforcing high pressure will move in on Wednesday into Thursday and push an active storm track to the south.
Next week will have chances of snow/mix/wintry precipitation/rain most of the week. Right now a coastal storm will affect the area for the beginning of the week and a clipper towards the end. Nothing is set in stone and a lot will change with a lot of uncertainty. Track and intensity will determine a lot. Water, surf and beach conditions look ok for most of the week with cautious conditions on Tuesday and possibly Friday.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
