From NJ.com article:
The rebuilt Fisherman's Walkway won't be the only change visitors to Island Beach State Park will see this summer.
No longer will the eating options only include the likes of hot dogs, hamburgers and ice cream.
Instead, improved and expanded food choices are on the way, according to a report on Philly.com.
That's the plan once the state signs deals with new food vendors, the report said.
Officials wants vendors to offer healthier cuisine, which could include fresh fruits and vegetables, fish tacos and yogurt parfaits, the report said. Other options are wraps, seafood and chicken. A Department of Environmental Protection spokesman said officials also like the idea of a breakfast menu.
It's also possible food trucks could be allowed to roll in to Island Beach State Park handle overflow crowds on the busiest days.
The DEP has issued a request for proposals, which must be submitted by 5 p.m. on March 19. Anyone interested in selling food there this summer must attend a pre-bid meeting at the park's main office on Feb. 17 at 11 a.m.
