First step in rod rebuild
« on: March 08, 2015, 10:15:06 AM »
These are the first steps in rebuilding the old boat rod. first step making it a one piece by doweling the blank to the old butt.

1. I center bored the wood handle with a 15/32" drill bit

2. fitting a 7/16 wood dowel to the handle w/masking tape

3. fitting the blank to the dowel

4. adjusting the blank for proper overall length
