Hot and humid returns with chances of showers and thunderstorms as well as borderline to cautious conditions on the water. There will be chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms all day this weekend. Temperatures will rise into the 80’s again inland with 70’s along the coast. Dewpoints and humidity will be higher as well, making conditions feel warmer and stickier. Overnight lows will only be in the low to even upper 60’s. It will feel like Summer again! Water conditions will be borderline to cautious for ocean waters on Saturday with winds approaching 20 or 20+ knots and seas 3-5 feet. Sunday will see borderline conditions mainly due to higher seas. Bays and rivers should see all good conditions and midshore to offshore will be mostly cautious. Surf conditions will be ok to good with some gustier winds to 20 knots on Saturday and then less wind on Sunday. Wave heights will remain in the 2-4 feet on average with potential for 5+ foot waves. Water temperatures have been steady or warming with waters in the 50’s and 60’s now. UV Index will be High to Very High at 6-8/15.
A high pressure system over the coastal waters will move slowly offshore on Friday. A low pressure system from the Upper Mississippi Valley will move northeast, with an associated warm front crossing the region on Friday Night. A cold front will then settle south across the area before stalling later in the weekend. The next low pressure system from the Rockies will track northeast through the Great Lakes and St Lawrence Valleys. A cold front will then push across the area on Tuesday. Canadian high pressure system will gradually build in for Wednesday and Thursday.
The upcoming week will start with rain chances on Monday and Tuesday, then dry for the rest of the week. Highs will be in the 60’s and 70’s with overnight lows in the 40’s to 60’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be borderline to cautious through Monday through Thursday and should improve for Friday.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
