Anyone ever fish the beach in Jamaica?
« on: November 13, 2007, 09:48:57 AM »
Fishinfool and I leave on Sat for 7 days all inclusive @ Breezes Runaway Bay.

Going to bring 2 travel sized (3 piece) spinning rods w/20lb braid). Plan to do some fishing off the beach, docks, etc while there.

Bringing some jig heads with gulp shrimp, craps, etc. Some smallish surface poppers, some small metal etc.

Anyone ever fish there?  I imagine there has to be some 'cuda and stuff to fish for.

Here are some pics of the beach where we are staying.
I know how I am going to attack it, curious as to other's thoughts. Hoping to maybe hit one of their boats to get out in a little deeper water to bottom fish for a bit.
Yes, I will leave PLENTY of time for drinking, eating and partying :)

I'm sure you'll have all the catching you want.  Like fish in a barrel.  I'd just take cation on what it is prior to it putting a hutin on yu t^

Lot's of angry fish in there.

I will get a buzz at the very least as we are bringing 34oz Bubba kegs to drink out of.

Bought a waterproof case for camera so good to go.

Some wire leaders just in case I see some toothy critters :)

The Bubba Keg made my vacation in Mexico a couple months ago!  Best investment ever!

I was in Montego Bay this past July and went out with a guide and cast repalas for 3 hour with out even a tap then we went up a river and tried for another hour that was the end of my fishing in Jamaica. Spent the rest of the time drinking on the beach. Good luck and have a great time. We stayed at the New Iberostar in Montego Bay. I think you are on the other side of the island.

Hey pal, I hope you enjoy your trip.. Have fun and stay warm...

Now, as far as the fishing goes...  Grab a nice snoopy rod and carry it with you while snorkeling...  You can't miss.
Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.
