A rougher start to the week, but improving conditions by midweek or so. Monday will be dry with increasing clouds as rain and thunderstorms move in during the overnight and stick around for Tuesday before clearing out for Wednesday. Monday Night and Tuesday will see upwards of 1.5-2 inches of rain possible, as well as strong to severe thunderstorms likely. Wednesday will have very low chances of isolated or scattered showers and then dry for the remainder of the day and then through Friday. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s this week with temperatures slowly inching up into the weekend when heat and humidity return. Overnight lows will drop down into the upper 50’s and low 60’s with some mid 60’s at the shore before jumping back up into the mid 60’s to low 70’s. Humidity will be lower to moderate increasing to moderate and then high by the end of the week into the weekend. Water conditions will be borderline on Monday, cautious for Tuesday and borderline to good on Wednesday then good for the remainder of the week. Rivers and bays will have better conditions and offshore waters will be more cautious to even hazardous and then borderline for the rest of the week. Seas on the ocean could approach 6-8 feet, but look to stay in the 2-4 range before improving to 2-3 and then 2 feet or less. Surf and beach conditions will be cautious to ok to start the week and then ok to good to end the week. Surf will be rough to start at 3-5 feet even 4-6 feet possible, improving to 2-4 feet and then 1-3 feet. Rip Current Risks will be Moderate to High for the first half of the week, improving to Moderate to Low by the end of the week. Be aware of dangerous water conditions and thunderstorms for the beginning of the week. Water temperatures have dropped by a few degrees, but still in the 70’s. UV Index will be Low to Very High at 1-9/15.
High pressure will gradually move east and offshore through Monday. By Monday Night, an areas of low pressure will be tracking around the Eastern Great Lakes. Its associated warm front will move north through the region into early Tuesday, followed by a cold front tracking east to the coast and offshore later Tuesday through Tuesday Night. High pressure will then build into the region for the middle to the end of the week. Another cold front may approach from the northwest next weekend.
The weekend looks to be mostly dry, but the heat and humidity return. Highs will be in the 80’s with upper 80’s inland and lower to mid 80’s at the shore. Overnight lows will be in the 60’s and 70’s. Water, surf and beach conditions look to be borderline on Saturday and good on Sunday. Let’s see how this pans out over the next 5 days or so.
The Atlantic Tropics are quiet again.
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
