Continued heat and humidity through Thursday with mixed to cautious water conditions all week. Well, in just a matter of a few days, forecasts went from dry conditions, to chances of showers and thunderstorms for most of the week. Tuesday is looking mostly dry, but an isolated or scattered shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will all have chances of showers and thunderstorms, as well. Thursday will have the greatest chances of widely scattered to more organized showers and thunderstorms, while Wednesday and Friday will be more isolated to scattered. Heat and humidity will continue through Thursday with some cooler and drier air slowly moving in for Thursday Night, Friday and then here by the weekend. Highs will be in the upper 80’s to low 90’s for Tuesday and Wednesday, then mid 80’s for Thursday and upper 70’s to low 80’s for Friday and into the weekend. Overnight lows will start off in the 60’s and into the mid 70’s at the shore before dropping into the mid 50’s to mid 60’s. Humidity will be high, then moderate and then low by the weekend. Water conditions will be good for rivers and bays and mixed on the ocean. A continued onshore flow will keep winds gusty at times and seas building to 5 feet. Borderline to cautious conditions are likely all week ranging from 2-5 feet. So, 2 feet is definitely possible, but so is 3 feet, building to 4 feet by midweek and then to 5 feet by Friday. Surf and beach conditions will be ok to cautious with the onshore flow creating rougher surf and dangerous rip currents. Surf heights could increase to 5 feet at times with Moderate to High Risk of rip currents. Water temperatures are steady in the 70’s and surf temperatures are the warmest they have been all summer, into the upper 70’s to even low 80’s as a strong and steady onshore flow pushes warmer waters into the coast. UV Index will range from Low to Very High at 2-8/15.
High pressure located over the Western North Atlantic will continue to influence the weather into Wednesday. A cold front is forecast to approach from the northwest and move through the region Thursday. High pressure may briefly build over the region to start the weekend, followed by a low pressure system approaching from the west by Sunday.
The weekend is looking nice with a relief from the heat of some cooler and drier air. Conditions will be dry, with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to low 80’s with overnight lows in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be good.
The Atlantic tropics continue with Tropical Storm Grace and two areas of invest/interest. Grace is out in the Eastern Atlantic still and will make her way towards the Caribbean. She should not be a threat, as conditions should erode the system and leave nothing left. The other areas do not look like anything, but it is the peak season in the tropics, so keeping an eye on everything is always good.
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
