Well after a wet and windy week, weather conditions are improved and water conditions will keep improving. The majority of the week will be a mix of sun and clouds, with more sun than clouds through Thursday with dry conditions. Friday will bring in more clouds than sun and some rain chances, which will be scattered to widely scattered at best.  Fall temperatures  will be slowly working in to the late Summer climate. Highs will range from the 60’s to lower 70’s with overnight lows in the 40’s across northern areas to 50’s and even low 60’s at the shore. Early in the week will be breezy with winds to 20 knots at times, but this will lessen as the week moves along. Water conditions will be cautious to hazardous to start the week, improving throughout the week, with cautious to borderline conditions midweek and borderline conditions to end the week. Wind will still be gusty to 30 knots and seas over 6 feet inshore and 14 feet offshore before gradually improving throughout the week. Rivers and bays will have mostly good conditions, except for Monday or Tuesday. Good conditions may be found mid to late week as well, so it will all depend how quickly the oceans improve this week. For those concerned about the NJSWF Tuna Trip, conditions look just fine from this point in time. Winds could be gusty on Friday Night, but that should calm by Saturday with seas to 3 feet. I will keep an eye on this and update any changes. Surf and beach conditions will be hazardous to cautious through midweek, as surf will continue to be rough with wave heights at 6-13 feet and subsiding through the week. Winds will be gusty on Monday and Tuesday and then will lessen into Wednesday and for the rest of the week. Water temperatures are a few degrees cooler in the low to mid 60’s. UV Index will be Low to High at 3-6/15.

High pressure will remain in place through midweek. By Wednesday, a weak cold front is expected to cross the region. Right behind this front, a high will build in through the remainder of the work week. A stronger cold front should approach the Northeast Friday or Saturday.

The weekend looks like rain chances, mostly on Saturday, but less than an inch in accumulation and probably scattered to widely scattered at most. Highs will be in the 60’s with overnight lows in the 40’s and 50’s. Water, surf and beach conditions look to be mostly good all weekend, so far.

The tropics are still active with Hurricane Joaquin approaching Bermuda as a ragged looking Category 2 storm that is still extremely dangerous. There are also two other invests being watched in the Atlantic this week for possible development.

Have a great week and thanks for reading!
