Thank you to our Veterans.
Pulled out of Keyport at 8:30am to a stiff wind and choppy bay. We scouted around and the bay for awhile and there were no signs of birds or large schools of bunker. Trolled the reach 20 and 11A and also the flats by Earl. Marking fish and small pods of bait but no takers. Moved around the hook by the candlesticks and found some bird life with big blues and keeper Stripers mixed in. Tandem Mojos parachutes, shad umbrellas, tube umbrellas, and single shads cast out all produced. Some of the fattest bluefish I have ever seen were still eating. Around 2 pm the wind laid down and the sun was out and we landed 2 more keeper Stripers just to the north. At the fillet table the Stripers stomachs were empty.
