A settled weekend with good weather and water conditions. The weekend will be dry and sunny, with clouds increasing for Sunday Night. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s, which is still above average for this time of year. Overnight lows will range from the 20’s across northern areas to 40’s at the shore still. Water conditions will be good, all across the board. Rivers, bays, and ocean waters will be good with winds to 10 knots and seas 1-2 feet. It is not often in the Fall/Winter that all areas, including midshore to offshore areas, have good water conditions. Surf and beach conditions will be good also. Water temperatures are steady in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s. UV Index will be Low at 1-2/15.
A strong area of high pressure approaches from the west on Thursday Night into Friday, then dominates the weather this weekend before shifting offshore late Sunday into Monday. An area of low pressure is forecast to develop near the Mid Atlantic Coast Monday Night, then track north and eastward Tuesday while potentially strengthening as it moves out to sea through Wednesday. High pressure is then forecast to build in for Thursday.
Next week will start off dry on Monday, then rain chances will move in for Monday Night and all day Tuesday. Dry conditions will return again for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Highs will remain in the 40’s and 50’s with overnight lows in the 20’s to 40’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be good to start on Monday, deteriorating afternoon or so. By Tuesday water conditions will be cautious, turning hazardous with winds to 55 knots on Tuesday Night and Wednesday and seas to 25 feet. A strengthening low pressure system off the coast will be responsible for this blowout. Conditions will improve late on Wednesday, slowly and into Thursday. By Friday, conditions should be back to normal.
The Atlantic Tropics are quiet and the season has officially ended. Only future updates will be for any out-of-season developments. 6 months until hurricane season begins again.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
