The coldest air of the season will move into the area with cautious to hazardous water conditions. The weekend will be mostly dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Very northern/northwestern parts of the state could see snow showers on Saturday and into Saturday Night. High temperatures will drop into the 30’s and 40’s with overnight lows in the 20’s and 30’s. Even with the coldest air, this is hardly extreme cold, nor will it stay long. The coldest nights will be Friday and Saturday Night with Sunday Night already moderating back. Water conditions will be mostly cautious to hazardous. Saturday will have cautious to hazardous conditions for all locations with Small Craft Advisories and Gale Warnings. Winds will push 35 knots and seas to 6 feet inshore and 10 feet midshore to offshore. Sunday will start off cautious becoming borderline to good, then back to cautious with increasing winds on Sunday Night into Monday. Surf conditions will be ok with seas 3-5 feet on Saturday and 2-4 on Sunday. Water temperatures are steady in the 50’s. UV Index will be Low at 0-2/15.

A cold front will move into the area on Thursday Evening and move offshore overnight. Northwest flow will remain across the area Friday into Saturday, until high pressure builds across the Mid Atlantic on Sunday. The high builds offshore on Sunday Night as a warm front lifts north of the area. A cold front will approach the area early next week, but may stall to the west and north, before another cold front approaches by the middle to later part of the week.

A wet week starting on Monday Night with chances continuing through the end of the week right now. Greatest chances of precipitation will come on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will start moderating from the weekend back into the 50’s then 60’s again with overnight lows increasing from 20’s and 30’s to 40’s and 50’s. Right now, Christmas could have some showers, but temperatures look to be in the 50’s and 60’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be cautious to hazardous on Monday, better for Tuesday, but likely still borderline to cautious, then borderline on Wednesday, and again cautious on Thursday and Friday.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
