Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for areas north and west of the I95 Corridor for Monday. Light snow will begin spreading over the state Monday Morning. Accumulations from less than an inch to 4 inches are possible. Snow will then change over to rain, during this transition sleet and a wintry mix is likely. Changeover will happen much earlier south and east of the I95 corridor. Any accumulations in these areas will quickly turn to slush and further by falling rain. Rain for north and western areas will changeover to freezing rain on Monday Night with icing potentials from less than 0.1 inches to 0.25 inches.
Between snow, mixed wintry precipitation, rain, and icing, surfaces will be hazardous and will make traveling dangerous tomorrow. Icing potentials will remain on the lower side and should not pose a major risk for downing trees and power lines, however isolated and scattered power outages are possible. Luckily, temperatures will not be frigid like they were this weekend. In fact, tomorrow will start the "warming" trend into midweek. With that said, surfaces will be well below freezing, so any precipitation that does fall tomorrow will quickly stick and freeze.
