Decent weather for the weekend, however water conditions will still be unsettled. The last weekend of February, as Winter is just flying by. This week will be the start of meteorological Spring on March 1st, however astronomical Spring is still a few weeks off. Both days look dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Saturday will be cooler with highs in the low 40’s and overnight lows in the 20’s to 30’s, while Sunday will see highs in the 50’s and likely into the 60’s for some places with overnight lows in the upper 30’s to 40’s. Sunday will be breezy. Water conditions will not be so accommodating. Saturday will have the best conditions with borderline to cautious conditions, but likely areas with good conditions as well. Winds on Saturday will only be 15 knots max sustained with gusts to 20 knots and seas to 4 feet inshore. Sunday will see some gustier winds with sustained winds to 20 knots and gusts to 25 knots with seas to 5 feet inshore and 10 feet offshore. Small Craft Advisories are likely for Sunday. Sunday Night will see an increase of winds and conditions could become hazardous late on Sunday. Surf conditions will be ok with some gusty winds to 25 knots and wave heights to 5 feet. Saturday will have the calmest winds and lowest surf. Beach conditions could be hazardous still in some locations due to the various Winter Storms. Water temperatures have warmed back into the low 40’s inshore and upper 40’s offshore. UV Index will be Low to Moderate at 2-4/15.

An area of high pressure will slowly build into the area from the Southwest Thursday Night before shifting south of the area on Saturday. A cold front then moves through during Monday, however the front may stall to the south at night. This then moves north of the area Tuesday as a warm front, as low pressure track into the Eastern Great Lakes on Tuesday Night. A stronger cold front moves through during Wednesday, then high pressure briefly arrives for Thursday.

The upcoming week looks dry right now except for Wednesday, although very unsettled. Highs will continue in the 40’s and 50’s with overnight lows in the 30’s to 40’s. Water, surf and beach conditions will be mostly cautious with possible good conditions later on Monday, Tuesday and parts of Wednesday.
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
