I need more rods like I need to gain a few pounds.. BUT.. I wanted a spinning rod that could easily handle 6+ ounces.. mostly for the extra-fast, under the boat, fluke drift.. as I seem to be too much of a spaz to hook fish with my conventional from that awkward position.. So I had a St. Croix Muskie rod sitting around that had the starch I was looking for.. i did'nt care for the grips..and I'm flush with conventional tackle anyway.. so out came the razors and the rasps, and I stripped it butt-naked..Other than a set of Fuji KWAG spinning guides, I had the components on hand.. being as I'm not great for cleaning the gulp juice and clam snot off my hands before grabbing the rod, I went with eva for the grips.. had some Rock Python skin handy to dress it up, and cover the rough spots left over after removing the old grips/seat...
