Jig Prototype
« on: April 19, 2016, 06:07:30 AM »
Giving some thought to expanding the jig line into these prototypes for Stripers. Not sure if I'd add the secondary hook or keep it in single version. A smaller version here but thinking of making in 9 in shad model.

Don't think you would need a second hook for stripers. They usually hit the face so there's not much of a chance for a short strike from the rear. Now if you want to catch bluefish.  ;D cfzd

the 2nd hook helps. once you figure out the placement of the hooks to fit right make small dots on replacement shads with a sharpie so you dont have to figure it out again

I still think you don't need a second hook for stripers. It can hamper the action of the softbait and it'll be more work getting two hooks out of a fish (think catch and release for short fish). Not to mention having a second hook flying around with an angry bluefish thrashing around on the deck.

If the bluefish are around the mojos go away. And the reason I like the second hook is not so much the additional hook but the distance toward the back of the shad it provides.
