An unsettled start to the week becoming more settled by the end of the week, with early to midweek cautious water conditions. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will have showers and possibly thunderstorms. Monday will have chances at night, while Tuesday and Wednesday will be during the day. These are low chances and any showers or thunderstorms will be scattered or even isolated. Thursday and Friday look dry right now. High temperatures will range from the 80’s on Monday, then down into the 60’s and 70’s for the rest of the week. Overnight lows will be in the 50’s and 60’s with some 40’s for northern areas. Water conditions will start off good for rivers and bays, but borderline to cautious for ocean waters on Monday. Tuesday will have good conditions for rivers and bays during the day, then Delaware Bay will have cautious conditions at night. Ocean waters will be borderline to cautious. Wednesday will have cautious to hazardous conditions for all waters except Raritan Bay and some inland rivers may have good to borderline conditions. Thursday will have cautious conditions for all locations, again, except Raritan Bay and some inland rivers which will have good to borderline conditions. Friday will have good conditions for all locations except midshore to offshore waters will have cautious conditions. Surf and beach conditions will be good to ok, with surf heights 2-4 feet this week, with many areas at 1-3 feet. Winds will be gusty on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and even Thursday. Wednesday will have the highest winds and maybe even cautious conditions with winds 35+ knots. The other days will see 20-25 knots tops. Rip Current Risk will be Low, maybe some Moderate days. Water temperatures are steady in the 60’s and 70’s. UV Index will be Moderate to Very High at 4-9/15.
A weak cold front will move east through our region this evening. A strong cold front will slide southeast through the Mid Atlantic States late Tuesday. High pressure will then build southeastward toward the Mid Atlantic Region through the remainder of the work week before a strong warm front approaches from the southwest this coming weekend.
The weekend will have shower and thunderstorm chances for both days, however greatest chances look like Saturday. Highs will continue in the 70’s with 50’s overnight. Water, surf and beach conditions will be borderline to cautious.
Tropical Depression #3 has formed in the Gulf of Mexico and is now Tropical Storm Colin. This storm will track across the Big Bend/Pan Handle of Florida and exit around Georgia or South Carolina before heading northeast and out to sea. We could see some rain come out of the South and potentially some minor water condition effects later in the week. This should not pose a threat to the area, but should be watched, just in case a major track change occurs.
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
