Another unsettled remainder of the week with mostly good water conditions, though. Monday Evening/Night will give way to rain and thunderstorms, some possibly heavy rain at times causing flash flooding. Flood Watches are in effect for most of the state. Tuesday will have showers and thunderstorms continuing from the overnight, eventually tapering off. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible for the remainder of the day. There is a Marginal Risk for Severe Weather, so some of these storms could be strong to severe. Wednesday will see a generalized risk of thunderstorms, mainly due to high temperatures and dew points and a passing front. Thursday and Friday will also have chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms, also. Highs will be in the 80’s and 90’s with overnight lows in the 60’s and 70’s. Humidity will be Moderate to High as that warm front lift norths and brings that warm and moist air from the South! The heat of Summer is upon us and doesn’t look to break until next week. Water conditions will be good for rivers and bays and borderline to cautious for Ocean Waters on Tuesday. By Wednesday all waters will be good for the remainder of the week, except midshore to offshore waters which will be borderline at times. Surf and beach conditions will be ok on Monday with surf to 4 feet and a Moderate Risk of Rip Currents. By Wednesday surf heights will be back to 1-3 feet with a Low to Moderate Risk of Rip Currents. Water temperatures are steady in the 70’s. UV Index will be Moderate to Extreme at 4-11/15.
A warm front extending from the Ohio River Valley to near the North Carolina and Virginia border this afternoon will lift northward into the area tonight. A wave of low pressure tracking along the front will move through the region overnight before exiting off the coast early Tuesday morning. The front will dissipate over the area during the middle of the week. A series of fast-moving disturbances may pass through the area Thursday and Friday. A cold front is expected to move through Saturday. High pressure builds in late in the weekend.
The weekend will start off with chances of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, clearing out by Saturday Night. Sunday looks to be dry. Highs will be in the 80’s and 90’s with overnight lows in the 60’s and 70’s. Water, surf and beach conditions look to be borderline to cautious with seas to 4 feet.
Atlantic Tropics are quiet.
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
