Yesterday's (Friday) trip.
I made a right turn out of SRI and was greeted by a flat calm sea. Didn't pull back the throttle till we got to the axel reef where we tried numerous spots I have marked on the GPS. Not much movement with the lack of wind so we power drifted, continuously bumping it in and out of gear. That sucks because I'm in the sport cabin and not able to fish while operating the boat. The crew did get five keepers to inhale the gulp.
I learned that the bite was exceptional for some first thing in the morning and that it shut down at 9. Well, don't you know, I got there at 9. Man, do I hate getting up early.
Taking the day off today, will be back at it tomorrow.
