Overall a settled weekend with good water conditions. Saturday and Sunday will be mostly dry. Saturday will have an isolated chance of showers and thunderstorms. Those chances increase for Saturday Night and Sunday for Southern NJ. Sunday will also have a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms and an isolated to scattered chance of showers and thunderstorms for Southern NJ. These chances are very, very low, but don’t be surprised if a pop-up thunderstorm occurs. Keep this in mind while out this weekend. Temperatures will continue in the upper 80’s to low 90’s on Saturday inland, with slightly cooler temperatures, in the mid 80’s, at the shore. Overnight lows on Saturday will continue in the 60’s and 70’s with moderate to high humidity. Sunday will continue with slightly cooler temperatures with highs only in the upper 80’s and low to mid 80’s at the shore. Overnight lows will continue to be in the 60’s and 70’s. Water conditions will be good across the board, for all locations at all times. Max seas are 3 feet on Saturday and 2 feet on Sunday, with winds at or below 10 knot sustained. A gust to 15 knots is possible, but lower chances. I actually think lack of wind could prove to be a problem this weekend and will make conditions hotter on the water. Conditions in and around any thunderstorms will bring increased winds and seas, so be aware of any storms moving in or quickly popping up. Surf and beach conditions will be good with a Low Risk of Rip Currents. A low risk of rip currents does not mean NO risk and thunderstorms are possible moving in and popping up. Water temperatures are in the 70’s and 80’s. UV Index will be Moderate to Very High at 4-10/15.
A weak surface front will remain nearly stationary along the coast today through Sunday. Low pressure may form along this front late Saturday and Sunday. Weak high pressure is then expected for Sunday Night and Monday before another front moves in from the west Monday Night and Tuesday. High pressure returns for the rest of the work
week.
Next week starts off with showers and thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday, then mostly dry for the rest of the week. Highs will start off in the upper 80’s and then moderate back to the mid 80’s with cooler temperatures at the shore. Overnight lows will start off in the 60’s and 70’s and then drop down into just the 60’s for the rest of the week with some 70’s still at the shore. Water, surf and beach conditions look borderline to maybe cautious Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, then improving for Thursday and Friday.
Atlantic Tropics are quiet!
Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!
