NJ Fishing & Boating Weather Outlook Weekly Jul 9-15, 2018
« on: July 08, 2018, 10:42:38 PM »

A mostly settled and dry week with a nice weekend ahead. Water conditions will be hazardous, cautious, or borderline most of the week. Monday, Thursday, and Friday will be mainly dry with very low chances of isolated thunderstorms. Tuesday and Wednesday will have chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs will range from the 80’s to 90’s with lows in the 50’s to 70’s. Water conditions will be mainly cautious with hazardous midshore to offshore conditions due to a tropical system moving off the coast to the northeast. Conditions may improve towards the end of the week, if the remnants of Hurricane Beryl do not develop off the East Coast. Surf and beach conditions will be good out of the water, minus Tuesday and Wednesday, however surf conditions will be rough and dangerous most of the week. At minimum a Moderate Risk of of Rip Currents will be posted, with likely High Risks. Many beaches will have no swimming or distance restrictions. Water temperatures are still in the 60’s.

High pressure will continue to influence our weather into Tuesday. A cold front from the northwest is forecast to move through our region late on Tuesday and it should push tropical system Chris out to sea. High pressure is expected to follow the cold front for the balance of the work week into the coming weekend.
