Hi All,

Are you ready for this years season to start?  What have you been doing to get ready?

Well, I think I am as ready as I have ever been. I have been tying teaser lures and tying rigs for bait and have a number of them ready to go.  The reels are all washed and lubed and re mounted of the rods ready to go.

I replenished most of the plugs and metals I lost last summer and repainted the ones I used a lot and are down to bare wood.  I hate to add all this up but hey it has to be done.

I have a couple of new outfits that I gained over the winter and can't wait to christen them by landing a good size keeper.

I have the season pass for IBSP already on the Expedition and ready to go.  The Expedition had a lot of work done to it over the winter so far and it feels like a new vehicle.  Breaks, ball joints, steering tightened, new seals, boy it gets expensive but all that stuff except for the breaks is all original.

I had a hitch receiver mounted up front so I can have the rod and cooler rack up front this way I can face the ocean and stay in the veh during the cold snaps and still watch the poles.

I will be going over to Grumpy's and Betty & Nicks to sigh up for their seasonal Tournaments this year, hey for $10.00 bucks ya might get lucky.

Buying crap for the boat waiting for weather to get nice (or Mid April really) to get the stuff installed so I can use it

Just need to buy my prop for most part as far as boat goes. Have the tabs, fuel flo, 2nd baitwell pump, new VHF, already. Oh, extra battery and combiner, another set of speakers too. Guess I am not done buying sh!t

Then just buy a bunch of flouro leader material ion various tests and maybe some more hooks. Probably one more new rod to match my Avet SX and I am good to go. Loaded up on diamond jigs, shad rigs, crippled herring type jigs, bucktail type jigs and BIG spoons already. Already bought more rods, reels over winter

Just need to get that boat ready with everything installed and start fishing

My reels are finished.  As for fishing, I will buy some tackel as I go along.  The boat will need a power washing, waxing, battery charge, and bottom paint touch up come March.

Sounds like the bulk of your projects are ahead of you.  I hate when that happens.  Its nice to know that with that much work you have people that can help you with it.

They look great and should work well.  Do you use them on a fly rod as well if not you should give them a try.

For the Clouser Minnow you might want to tie a few a little more sparse as I have found out that after they have been hit a number of times and the hairs begin to fall out they start to work better I have been tying mine to where they look ragged.

I'll be spooling up the new Taurus today.  I lubed everything up and mounted them all and leak tested the waders.  Last night I sharpened a few hooks and inspected the plugs for any damage that I missed in repairs.

Tomorrow will be my first day out... going to be on the sodbanks around high tide.  Out back, RB.

Well...let's see....

I bought a 22 foot Grady in January, a new Garmin 545 FF/Gps (still needs to be installed), six XPS MH poles (some new, some old) with six used Shimano 400 corvalus reels spooled with 30 lb Powerpro, two new MH ugly stix poles with Shimano Semetre reels with 8lb crystal fireline, one used Penn 5500 spinning reel, Nautical Ease compound and wax and a partridge in a pear tree. 

Still need all the coast guard requirements (flares, etc.), new net and anchor chain & rope. Need to compound and wax the boat too after the bottom gets painted.

I'm getting there.....

Sam, you might want to clean and wax the side first, then paint.  If you paint first, the cleaning and waxing part will discolor the bottom paint.
