Hello, New Guy Here
« on: February 20, 2008, 06:41:51 PM »
Hello to all,
My name is Rick and I live in North Jersey. I have fished since I was a kid. I have done most of my fishing on fresh water with some salt. At one time owned a bait and tackle shop on lake Hopatcong, but that was years ago. I now own a truck repair and parts shop. I bought a new boat at the end of last year and want to spend more time in salt water, around Sandy Hook. I do fish Lake Ontario for Salmon in the fall. I hope most people don’t mind if I ask questions. I want to learn as much as I can about Striper and Week fishing.
Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!

mboy,
I get around, A nice guy told me about this site.
I trailer the boat because I have a RV and take them both to Ocean City MD and Lake Ontario every year. I run up to the lake just about every weekend from August till October. I would love to get a slip and have the RV near by, but cant find a campground close to the hook. This is going to be my last year for Ocean city because the kids are getting older, my son now has a job and wont be able to take the time off. We are hitting the Keys in April, Ocean City in July and the big lake in August. Then I will have to cut back and stay home. So I have to get the fishing down.

Welcome Aboard Dieselhp,

Great to have you aboard.  Ask way, there are a ton of guys and gals on board that will be able to help you out.  I have to warn you though you will get a tons of advise, all good, so you will have to make decisions as to which ones to start with.

As for my self I love the suds and fish mainly in Ocean County and my favorite spots are Ortley Beach, Lavellette and Island beach State Park.  It is so cool in the summer to be out fishing on tghe beach and having a roaring fire going at night with family close by.

Come On Spring...

Happy Catching
