Just getting out as much as possible.

Let's see... approx 25 weeks in the slip... let's try for 50 trips or more (2/week). Catching is just an added bonus.

Also looking forward to meeting/fishing with many of you.

Health, happiness, and LOWER fuel prices (yea right)

My fishing goals are to fish as often as possible with catching making for a really perfect day.  Hunting the illusive fluke is my favorite.  A real challenge and with the NJ/NY regs this year we have to find the fluke AARP meeting place,  Anyone know where the local chapter meets in the raritan area?  May have to start visiting deeper grounds and hope to have a new boat to do it.  Of course meeting more site members is always a plus and hope I can add to the useful information.  I try to fish Tuesday and Thursday weather permitting out of AH where I keep my trailer.  It won't be long.. and now I know to watch the anchor rope after seeing a charter captain run over his.  My new boat has a remote windlass so this past winters experience was good.

Grady Gulfstream.  My Seaswirl is still stored inside and I will be taking some pics and putting it up for sale soon.  Figured I was entitled to one more boat before I retire in a couple of years.

That is one of the good things about being primarily a surf guy.

No fuel.

Or at least not as much as the boaters.  I try to make sure I have at least 3/4 of a tank when I hit the beach.

I like to stalk, so the engine is running a lot.  If I am teaching or with family the engine is off for most of the time as we stay put most of the time.

Either way it costs about 20 bucks in gas on average.

In other words still affordable.

I hear ya.

Most of the areas I fish have no 4W access.

I fish alot of back bay areas so alot of walking. ;D

Okay by me though, it gives me some needed exercise.

I will be trying the back part of IBSP tomorrow I will have to park in a lot and walk in but thata OK like you said the exercise will do me good.  The only problem will be the wind they are callong for 20 - 30 out of the north mught be a problem with the fly rod I might shift to the light spinning.

I'm in the market for an inexpensive Salt Fly rod & reel.

I have always wanted to give it a shot.
