What do ya make of these rods?
« on: April 17, 2007, 10:45:06 PM »
Came across these searching around Ebay.  Seeker blanks custom wrapped by this guy. Cost with shipping around 15 bucks more than a factory built Seeker (no matter what his ad says, they dont sell for $225)
No mention of reel seat brand, guide brand, etc.  Maybe I'll contact this dude and see what the story is???
By the way, all his ads start with "fantastic"

Didnt think that price was over the top. A Seeker BA85 goes anywhere from $125-$140 online, so his price isnt to far off.

Want to get a custom tog stick done over the summer - whos Rob?

the thread wraps seem nice. the only if i would have about that rod is the reel seat. i personally only like full aluminum seats. if the guy did a good job with guide placement then 120 isnt a bad deal at all. personally, i couldnt get that rod done for you that cheap.  he does state that he is a rod builder, if you purchase this rod i would expect that you should get a lifetime warranty on components from the guy!!!!  that way you can be sure the dude is confident in his work.

Never got the rod. This guy puts a ton of em on Ebay every week though.  I thought the ad was interesting considering his prices werent over the top compared to factory wrapped rod.

Really want a custom tog stick for the fall. Gonna get in touch with ya soon, maybe have it built sometime over the summer??

Also have some questions on a PB tuna stick, That'll be for another post... ::)
