Winter Flounder, it's whats for dinner 3/26
« on: March 26, 2008, 05:13:16 PM »
The boys took the 10 foot Jon boat over to the Mantoloking Bridge area and dumped it in and fished this afternoon. They didn't fish long, about 2 hours, and action was sporadic, but they got 3 keepers up to 16 inches, on sandworms and using their homemade chum log(I'm afraid to ask whats in it). Slight chop on the water they said, but no boat traffic, and conditions weren't bad according to them.

I just filleted the fish up and will fry them up tonight for the boys, along with french fries. Still to early and to cold for weakies yet, but hopefully, another 2 weeks and they'll start coming in. Rods are spooled and ready, and tackle is ready to go, I just need a sign that they're starting to move in.

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot
