Wow stuff has been around a long time. I use to put a dab on mylures while we were large mouth bass fishing, yea it made a difference. Most of the time we used jig heads and groups so we had the same lures. So yea we seen a difference. Never used it in saltwater, only fresh water.  TT^

Do not, I REPEAT, DO NOT, keep it in the same bin as your jar of sunscreen.  Don't ask me what would happen if you do... ::), but I know for a fact that it does have an odor to it.

Also, do not keep your eye glass cleaner in the same bin as your squirt on bait scent.   ::)

I bought the Gulp spray to try this year.  I used the jelly years ago for L M Bass worked great.

Will see, can't hurt... t^

Before I started using GULP products to tip my bucktails, I used to take a popsickle stick and smear a little Smelly Jelly on the hair of my bucktail. It definitely works on fluke.  t^. I'd reapply a dab or 2 every 20-30 minutes or depending on the action.

Not sure if I would combine it with a GULP.

One trick I used during the summer was to keep the jar of Smelly Jelly in my cooler so that the heat woudn't melt it.

I've used the Herring and Eel flavors for years on Stripers up here on the Hudson..When it first came out I was given a jar to try, and tested it by pulling similar plugs, one greased and one not..The greased plug clearly outperformed, so I've been using it ever since.. I think it's especially effective when the water is cold, or when the fish are not real active..When they're on a good chew I may not always bother.. I also think it causes them to hold onto the lure longer (especially bucktails and softbaits).

I have a bottle of the Gulp spray and it says to spray it on after 5 or so casts.  I have the herring scent to spray on my teasers and flies as well.

Anything that can be used to attract in the surf is a plus.
