I have Lenco tabs on my boat. Parker installs then as original equipment. I had to replace the tank two years ago. It is plastic and started leaking at the seam. I did get 10 years of no problem with them, so, no complaints here.

Joe, what tank are you referring to? Lenco tabs are electric, not hydraulic so there would be no tank. Don't think they ever made hydraulic tabs.

Nick, 1st off, those are too small for your boat and are rated for boats up to 22.
They will rip out just as easily as the ones you have now.

2nd, you don't want the electric (almost bought them myself, but went Bennett after a LOT of research) as the electricals are in the actuator which sits in the water. Electric + under water = eventual problem.

3rd, that auction does not include a switch, which will run you another $50 or so (depending on which switch you get). The switch on your boat now ill not work (unless you have Lenco tabs now).

4th, I paid $425 delivered for my Bennett m120 sport tabs which are bigger and not much more then that auction would ultimately cost you.
Those tabs aren't even 15% cheaper then Bennetts.

Do you have bennett tabs now?  If so, why don't you go to the forum I posted a link and talk to Tom?

He sent me a pair of short rams and custom length hydraulic tubes for my install @ no charge.

Bennett has the best support in the business.

He will hook you up for sure.

If you need an extra actuator, I have one for you. It may just be the same one you have now.

The tabs itself would be fairly cheap. Get 2 larger ones and you are in business.


1 Thing you need to check is where they put the zincs on your tabs.

Some people use the zincs that go between the actuator and the tab (where the actuator and tab screw in together.
When the zinc gets eaten up and not replaced, a situation like yours occurs.
I went with R3 rudder zincs which will mount directly to that tab and not by the screws that hold everything together.

and to add a 5) to Mboys post. Bennett has great customer support. I've never read a negitive post about Bennett's customer support. Buy cheap buy twice.

I know that product is great.  I may have to measure first to make sure the 12X12 fit.  I do have twin engines.  If I get that size, I will have to move the actuators that are on there now and recenter everything.  Hopefully I can pull the boat out of the water and do it right at the marina instead of taking it back home. 

I will know more when Mboy gets his feet wet with his, unless I get a good price from one of the service places I emailed last night.

I was all set to buy the Lenco, but heard of some issues with the actuator failing frequently.

Since I have no trailer and it would cost me $200 a pop to have the boat hauled even if I fixed myself (and Lenco is supposed to be good about sending out new actuators), I wanted to avoid the problem all together and went with the Bennett (even tho they are more work up front to install).

Nope, but I wouldn't use anything other then benett for traidtional tabs or if you want to spend a bit more and go with a little different Tech, the Volvo QL tabs.
