$60 Lesson !!!!

Ok so The Pig is pretty much done and ready  ! New transducer for the FF, Bottom paint was raised 4". Even found the damn pesky leak in cabin it was the handrail the screws under  them causing it to drip into the cabin..

 Now for the $60 lesson  When you trailer your boat ALWAYS put the Antenna DOWN !! I just installed that one last year replace the one in the hull type. So for a lil humor at my expense here it goes.
  I picked the boat up after having the lower unit fixed. I was bringing it home to wash/wax. As i turn off rt 35 I hear WHAP WHAP WHAP WHAP. .. So i pull over and check the boat out trailer looks good i figure its the strap holding it down... SO i proceed.. WHAP WHAP WHAP  after 2 miles i pull again cause its drivin me Nuts! Check trailer out OK  .. Boat OK.. Look up and i see i snapped a Ft off  my antenna    There is ALLOT  and I mean ALLOT wires crossing that damn road that I hit 
  So for $60 I replaced it and Lesson is learned Since I only trailer it 2x a yr but there is a note on boat now    Boat be in this Fri !!

Forgetting to lower the antenna is not unusual.
There are times I'm scrambling on my boat as we approach a bridge because the crew is in the back of the boat oblivious to what is happening. I ask about the antenna and they say it's ok. I check and it's UP. Chinese fire drill to lower it before that infamous WHAP.

here is a funny story...  I always put up my antenna at the ramp, right before I go in the water..   Last year I was in Tuckerton, at the ramp putting the boat in the water.. This is a ramp I am not used to.  So, as I set up at the ramp, I put up the antenna, just to have it break off as soon as I launched.. Didn't see the that there was a metal top on the ramp.

Salty Pig, This is a true story, I saw. Hope it eases the 60.00 pain some.
I was at the Marina walking around the ramp and saw a boat backing down the ramp ready to launch,I can clearly see the two trolling rods in the rochets launchers are cracked in half with tree limbs and branches still attached.
As the mate gets out of the truck, I did not say anthing(did not want to tell the guy any bad news) and waited till the capt.got out to check things for launching. Holy mackeral, who ever they were it became clear the were pissed.
They kept blaming each other with some choice words.
