Pops, sis and I had the pleasure of fishing with the World Famous Lou Grazioso today and his mate Matt.

Started the day off over at Great Kills netting bunker.
2 Throws and the 50 gallon live well was full.

Ran back to some numbers we marked fish at on way out and within seconds, huge bluefish on every rod.

Nonstop big blues all AM until sis dropped a bass by the boat, then she finally landed one @ 30.5". Made some moves to avoid the blues, but to no avail.

Finished up the AM with all the big blues (to 12lbs) you could ask for (many triple headers) and the 1 bass.  Left 'em biting.

Got to christen my new GUSA/Avet combo and it was more then up to the task.

Lou had some GREAT new tsunami Airwave gear.  Tried this 8-17lb spinner that was unreal and a 40-60lb rod that must have weighed 6oz.

Really nice gear.  Basically challenged us to break them :)

Great Day fishing and talking w/ a legend like Lou.

Tough striper bite for us, but action was non stop all day.

If you ever get the chance to fish with Lou & Matt, TAKE IT and run!!!!

Saw Duffman on his charter today, heard they did a little better with few bass and scored heavy on big blues.

Also saw Hunter II trolling and into some fish as well.

Blues EVERYWHERE.

Read stripers on bottom for rsure, but tough to get past the blues.

Even devouring heads.

and finally got to take my boat out for a  lttle shakedown and try out new tabs.

Fishinfool is going to be VERY happy she won't be getting as beat up on the water as last year.  Ran pretty hard today and zero pounding in the 2' chop with bow down.

Few more things to finish up and she will be good to go.

Nice to see water beaded up on my shiny hull too.

Topsides still not done tho, but that nautical ease is GREAT.

Sounds like a great trip Mike.  Your report was uplifting because today was a honey do day.  I am hoping to get out a few times this week now that I broke the ice on Friday.

A friend went out kayaking in the back of IBSP and pulled in 3 stripers yesterday and a couple of blues.  I am waiting for the water to warm up so I can give it a try.

Good luck this season, sounds like it is going to be a fun one.

I called Lou in the am but he did not pick up his phone.

I was tempted to take the ride to Browns and say hello but I went Trout Fishing instead.
