Fluka's Afloat!
« on: May 01, 2008, 11:32:37 AM »
After much frustration and whining on my part, we finally got the newly named Fluka Brasi splashed yesterday afternoon! We took a cue from Fishin' Dude's post and went with the DIY method for the lettering.. The high winds made it a bit tricky, but we got it on ok, although we did get one wrinkle, but it's not obvious unless you get up close.. After sitting all winter, the diesel fired up on the first crank and purred nicely.. All systems checked out ok, so we ready to rumble!  Now if the weather would just cooperate a little this weekend, we'll be attempting to harass the local fishes.. Will be taking some overdue days off next week as well, so see'yall out there.. If ya see Fluka, swing by and say hi or holler on 68!

Thanks for the kind words guys..I was pretty happy with the way the lettering came out.. Mike, I'm hoping to be out Sat. But Rob is trying to tweak the code on one of our trading apps., so he can bail a few days next week..But if he gets it done, we'll be out there Sat...If not on Sun., and a few day during the week which we'll pick based on Wx forecast.

Tell your brother if he had the wireless internet all set in the boat, he could be doing it while waiting for a bass to pick up his bunker  TT^

I guess wireless would be satellite...unless, you stay close to land where you can pick up a signal.  Isn't that kind'a  slow though?

Thanks again guys!  Nick, I'm moored in Keansburg, but am over by AH all the time.. As most os my experience in the bay prior to getting this boat involved launching out of Leonardo,  I'm more familiar with that end of the Bay, so spent much of my time there last season. I plan on learning more of the western end this season.. Paul, my 'bro is a network engineer, and the tech guru in the family, I'm  a bit of a boob in such matters so, not sure how it all works.. I imagine they bounce it off a sattelite or the space shuttle or something.. As long as it don't interfere with my Fishfinder he can do as he pleases :)
