I have 2  batteries  now when the guy worked on my boat he said he went to start it and  nothing happened.. they worked fine for me till today. they have been working fine... i was out on battery 1 all day  sat anchored  with gps,and 2 radios on and livewell on... went to start and nothing battery didnt have enough to start it had to switch to  2.
  Should i buy a charger for the house and put them on it? i have an old one and i mean OLD like 85. or just go buy a new battery?
  What kind of charger should i get?

it depends on how old your battery is... buy a new battery and trickle charge it during the off season.

Bring battery in to get tested.

Then drop the $50 on a combiner like I have and not have to worry about charging either one. If your current battery is bad, by a starting and only hook engine up to that and the other stuff to your house battery.

Kill the house with gps, radios, etc, the starting battery will have full charge since nothing is drawing it down.

Whats a combiner?  no idea what kind of charger to get  to trickle charge them.

 The Combiner 100 is a voltage-sensing relay (13.3 volts) which connects two batteries together when either is receiving a charge. When the charging ceases, the relay opens so that each battery operates independently. Supplemental battery banks can be added by using an additional combiner for each bank. You never have to worry about switching to "BOTH" when your engine is running and forgetting to switch back to save your starting battery from discharge when you stop.

   This combiner is suitable for installations with alternators up to 100 amps with one battery in each bank. Larger installations should consider using the 150 Amp model.

i dont have shore power connected so this would charge my battery  off the engine?  cause u totally lost me on this one

If you connect the charger to 1 battery with this, both will charge.
When running the engine, both batteries will charge without having to use the switch setting to both.

When engine stops, the batteries disconnect from each other.

if all of your electronics, etc are run off of 1 battery, this is the only battery that will drain. Since engine is only hooked up to the 1 starting battery, it will never get drained and will always start.

You really wouldn't need shore power or a charger with this setup. If you kill your 1 battery while fishing, the engine should still fire right up commencing charging of both batteries.

This takes the switch out of the equation so you never have to remember to switch from 1 to the other.

Unless your starting battery goes bad, it will always be ready to start the boat.

When engine runs, other battery starts to charge automatically.

I ran mine down last week at the dock while listening to radio for 3 hours. All I had to do was fire up the engine, take a little cruise and low battery charged right up.

1st thing to do is figure out what you left on to drain batery.
Then get battery tested if bad, buy a new one. Then get combinor so you don't have to worry about having dead starting battery and wire it up properly.
