Went out on a open boat charter yesterday on OOAL3 with Capt. JR. FLukedood, MS22, his brother Matt (the hanson brothers
) and myself on board in search of some stripers. Left Morgan Marina at 5:30 am sharp and were on our way to Great Kills for some bunkies. Loaded up the livewells and away we went. First drift, MS22 landed a nice 20 lb + bass. NICE! WE had a few lines running and dropped a few as well, but that was the only one that made it into the cooler.
We set up for the drift again and JR noticed the winds changed direction and it was all blues from there on in.
Insane blues.
We stayed out until 1:00 live lining and chunking giving it our best, but no other stripers to speak of.
All in all, a great day out there with a bunch of great guys.
