Waking lure

When I cast my lure (usually and floating crankbait), I let the lure sit until the rings on the surface disappear. If the bass hasn’t hit it by then, I give the lure an almost undetectable twitch that usually invokes a vicious strike.

If, however, my subtle twitch fails to draw a hit, I’ll then slowly and steadily wake the lure all the way back to the boat. Make sure to let the lure sit beside the boat for a couple seconds before removing it from the water just in case a follower decides to strike at the last moment.
