Raritan Bay / Romer: Bass and Blues.
« on: May 14, 2008, 08:40:05 PM »
Received a call from a fishing Bud last night asking me if I was interested in fishing in the am. for Bass/Blues. I asked him about Houddy Doody and his genitles.
Left the dock at 6 am could not net any bunker, because the net was still in my driveway(forgot).Snagged a half dozen and had some clams off we went to Raritan.Last part of the outgoing, wind from the West.Few short bass no keepers, lots of blues in the 8-9lb class on chunks.Lifted and anchored farther South East, fished thru slack with not much action until the tide starting coming in and wind changed to out of the East.Another  bass and five more blues to 10lbs still on chunks.Last move and set anchor still no more Bass, but another four or five Blues tween 8-10-lbs.Kept a few for friends, one for the fish cakes. White caps increasing and wind still out of the East stronger.Released plenty and called it a day at 3 pm.

Nice, and all that without a cast net.  TT^
