Another shot for fluke turned into singing the blues.
« on: May 26, 2008, 07:50:13 PM »
Left the dock with five on board today. Looking at the weather report before pushing off we decided to head south and they were calling for a ssw wind by afternoon.

Got out Shark River Inlet and was met with 10-15 mph winds from the south. Push the boat into 2-3 foot seas. Made a drift off of the Dunkin Donuts with not a sniff.

Moved out about a mile or so off the beach. Made a drift for fluke and started picking up blues. Switched over to metals and concentrated on them for a short time. Went back to fluking, nothing doing. No fluke, no skates, no dogs.

Wind started picking up and the seas jumped up to 5s and 6s. Headed in early as there was no bite and we got tired of getting beat up by the wave action.

Will be back on the big pond next week.

Water temp made it up to 56 today, water cleaned up tremendoulsy from yesterday.

Good luck and good fishing to anyone going out this week.  t^

I guess I didn't miss much this weekend.  From the Beaches of Seaside, the water looked very murky...
Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

I'm guessing it was pollen in the water. The water was filthy with it. Had my depthfinder lite up down to twenty feet most places.

AJ, the area around Shark River was much better today. Possibly the south wind blew the mess apart.  5hrug
