barney area for the 30th
« on: May 30, 2008, 08:03:08 PM »
found bunker just outside the inlet 1st thing. livelined a pair with nothing. didnt appear to be anything on them either. went north to find more bunks with no luck from inlet to gilkens. trolled back south 2miles in 50 feet of water, with no results. picked up and headed south.

got to just south of the inlet and found bunker all over, again appeared to have nothign chasign them, but did the snag routine for good measure. found a couple more pods from inlet to harvey cedars all with no action. i mean wtf!!! nothing!

picked up again and decided to hit garden state north. slow pick of black bass, with 2 keepers, 14" and 16". plus a 17 3/4" fluke. damn, so close. :'(

picked up once more to try the barney reef, but weather kicked up enroute so called it a day.

Thanks for the report it always helps us land locked fisherman.  I was out at IBSP today as well and using bunker I did get a real good hit but could not get a good hook set I will have to go to a larger hook size with the heads.

It looked like you had plenty of company out there today and most were right at the mouth of the inlet.  As far as I could see no one was bringing anything over the  rails though.

Happy Catching
