New guy
« on: June 15, 2008, 10:43:20 PM »
Hello all.  New guy here.  Live in ocean Co.  Work as a career firefighter in Middlesex Co.
New to both the site and fishing.  Did A LOT of saltwater fishing as a kid, but just recently picked it up again.  So I'm here to learn and figure out what the heck I'm doing.
Been out a few times surf fishing at IBSP.  Nothing so far, so I called it "practicing my casting".  Looking to branch out a little and try the bay, inlets and river.  Looking for some fluke, crabs or anything pulling on the other end of the line really.
Found a good bit of info here already, especially Paul's locations / reviews. Great job.  As a new guy figuring out is one of the hardest parts.  I plan on trying out several of those spots in the coming weeks.

Chris

Welcome to the site Chris. There is a lot of useful information here with a lot geared to the new fishermen. Take your time, poke around a bit and ask questions. The guys here are all willing to help.

Welcome Aboard Chris,

If you need some more help just give me a call (732)270-0781).  My favorite spot is out on IBSP so if you want to give it a try again maybe we can break up your casting practice with an occasional fish tugging on the other end.

Where in Ocean County do you live?  I am located in Toms River and have been involved in Emergency Management since the 80's, but have been away for a while due to health issues.

Once you post a few more times other parts of the site will open up for you so keep um coming.  Looking forward to your posts either good or bad as you will get some information either way.

Again welcome to the site.

Happy Catching

Paul
