Fish out of Toms River NJ.
Call Nick for open boat, 973-417-5756, or on Channel 68.

There is no where to catch sea bass anywhere in the bay (for the most part). You def need to go outside to ocean, fish wrecks, rocks, etc.

There are a ton of rock piles and wrecks at the sea girt reef. You want sea bass, that's your spot. slt

Have to do a combined trip and split fuel.

Young Gull and I plan on doing it soon.

Hit bass VERY early AM at rocks or so, then move to sea bass fishing after that.

And gas. That's a long run from Morgan Creek.

There are some snags, rockpiles and wrecks along the edge of the Swash & Sandy Hook Channels and the area known as Between The Channels that hold good quantities of sea & some surprisingly nice sea bass but those spots usually don't produce until late summer.

Too many locations at the Shrewsbury Rocks to pin point any one. Find a nice rise from the bottom and anchor up current and drop back to it.

Can also fish the Sandy Hook Reef, which is just before you get to the rocks. A lot of nice structure there too. t^

You can pick some Sea Bass in the Mussel beds of of the Navy Pier (near TC Buoy) or between the Channels near Romer Shoal (Clam Mussel Beds)

But for good fishing many spots on the Sandy Hook Reef , the Shrewsbury Rocks or the Rough bottom off of Elberon t^

the closest and best spot for sea bass i have found is the sandy hook reef. I have done very well in the fall for sea bass on the sandy hook reef. Just get some clams and drift over the reef. I found drifting to be the best method. or if you hook up with some fish just anchor over that particular spot. hope that helps
