Reel Class Fluke 6/29
« on: June 29, 2008, 07:27:23 PM »
Had Al Durso, and John and Chris Hermann aboard for a fluke trip today. With the tricky forecast, we elected to stay in the river for the morning.

Using ultra light and light spinning tackle with light jig heads and gulp baits, we put 50 + fluke in the boat with a few nice keepers topped by Al's 19.5" fish, as well as a couple of birds and a small bluefish.

Great action most of the morning on the outgoing tide, we caught fish everywhere, but once the tide turned, things shut off. We also hit the gambit w/ the weather, bluebird sunny skies, no wind, to cranking S winds, black clouds, lightning, thunderstorms, and heavy downpours

Good trip, lots of bent rods and great action on light tackle.

Nice report Capt. The weather has been less than cooperative this year so far.  :'(

Seems all the fluke catching is going on inside, very quiet outside in recent weeks.
